A disappointment, I don't reccomend it. The steam kind of spurted and made water spots on the fabrics. i guess I was hoping to be able to replace my iron, but that isn't the case. It didn't really get many wrinkles out - maybe of a very certain type of fabric it would work, but it wasn't good enough for my general needs.
In the kitchen, the steamer worked successfully to soften baked-on grease from inside my oven door and also on cookie sheets. I have to pick up the steamer unit so the hose can reach the top of my drapes. Now for the advantages. T-shirts look great after a quick steam.By adding an old sock over the steamer head (take off the brush), I successfully steam-cleaned my screens and large windows. The water heats quickly so there's very litle lag time.
I found this steamer at a local big box store and bought it because the price was right and the store has a great return policy. I also steamed my cutting board after reading about the germs than can hide after washing. My steamer gets used a lot more than my iron ever did. Again, I had to pick up the steaming unit to reach the high spots. I needed to get out the wrinkles from silk and rayon clothes as I am not a good ironer.Shortfalls: as stated by other reviewers - 1) the pole should extend few feet higher.
I haven't had any problems getting the wrinkles out of rayon, silk and cotten clothes. I have recommended this item to several friends. I usually sit on the floor to steam the bottom of pants and dresses 2) the electrical cord isn't very long so I use an extension cord 3) the hose isn't long enough if you want to steam anything much higher than the top of the pole. The steamer holds enough water so you can steam for quite a while without refilling.
I used it about 3 time.then the 4th time, I turned it on and nothing happened. So, a little pricey to de-wrinkle 10 shirts. I purchased this because I was tire of ironing and was very excited when it arrived. The lights light up.there was a full reservoir.and no steam. I think I'll look into another brand with better reviews. It seemed to work great.heated the water quickly, steamed the clothing fairly well etc. The hose seemed a bit stiff and very very hot but I thought there was just a learning curve to using it efficiently.
Used it about three times over six months and it stopped working. Ordered this item.
So i pressed the reset button and i think the spring in the button was broken. My house smelled like burned plastic. I had this for about a year. So i pressed harder, then i heard an electrical surge noise, then the damned thing started smoking like it was gonna catch fire. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY THIS THING OR ANY THING OF THIS BRAND. it worked ok,the steam could have been stronger. The overheat light kept coming on like after 5 mins of using it, then everytime i would turn it on that dumb orange overheat light would be on.
